Noticed my boy chewing at/licking this spot on his foot for a couple days last week but didn't think much of it, but then I noticed it appeared to be red and looked raw or like it had been possibly bleeding. Feeling it, it feels like a bit raised like it's swollen or something. He's not acting...

I'm also having a hard time finding a good solution to this. Dio lets me touch his paws but pulls them away when I try using either a grinder or clippers and it's always a battle to really cut them without him being sedated basically.
