French Shepherd Beauceron

My 5 years old boy is so loyal and attached, it's sad. If I'm away for any amount of time, it could be a quick trip to the store or, a 4 hour visit to Mom. He will wait outdoors until I come home it's especially sad around the holidays when we're out for hours at a time. It literally breaks my heart and will never be able to vacation with the thought of how distraught he would be. Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I’m joining this thread, my boy has similar problems. If I go to the store without saying goodbye he will find atleast 2 things to destroy as a present for me for neglecting him that 5 minute trip.

I know it’s anxiety , BUT I haven’t a clue on how to sort it either.. I don’t crate my boy , when I’m gone for work he literally just sleeps and guards the front door. Vacation you’d definitely have to leave him with a reliable sitter.

I left King with someone a day off of “ROVER” and he came back super super wound and smelling like cigarettes. I fear that day was not a good day for him. Think they just left him in a crate all day
