Goofing Off with Bomber

I don't know if anyone is into anything like this but here's a video of Bomber and I just goofing off. Nothing fancy or impressive. Just us playing with a ball tug. It was pretty damn hot out and we were already out for awhile so he didn't have a lot left in the gas tank. You can see about half way through the video I was trying to get some barking and intensity out of him and he was like "NO" LOL.

These short, public play sessions are how I develop extreme engagement. When were out and about it's rare that he takes his attention away from me because I'm where all the fun happens.

Great video guys! Bombers obedience is looking really good, especially that sit in motion. How you framed the play in public places to always have his attention is really a great way to think / setup play. You can tell Bomber really loves hanging out and focusing on the game with you.

Also, what you mentioned the other day about giving him the outlet to bark hit me yesterday when I read the post by @missb mentioning IGP and how her dog just thrives on personal protection training. Energy keeps ramping up and suppressing it doesn't do the dog any good. I've never really seen it mentioned explicitly anywhere like you did but it was a really great way of putting it. It connected some dots for me, especially when I recall what it was like when I visited the IGP club. You can just see the dogs have purpose and use all different aspects of their drive and genetics to achieve something they were made to do. It's very cool, both from a handlers capability/desire to recognize and work their dog but also to see the dog light up when they are doing something fulfilling.
