Something I haven't mentioned before. My dog absolutely positively will NOT under any circumstances drink tap water.
90° outside? Nope.
Just finished running a marathon? No way.
Dehydrated? Bring on death.
My wife discovered this when he was a little puppy. He wasn't drinking much and his nose was always dry. She says:
"I don't think he likes tap water. He sniffs it and walks away."
She poured him a bowl of filtered water NEXT to his bowl of tap water and he crushed it.
Ever since then, our municipal water will not be touched. I can pour some in travel bottles, refrigerate it, bring it with us on a hike, and he still won't drink it.
Meanwhile I've been drinking this crap for my whole life. It makes me wonder... What does the dog know??
