Something I haven't mentioned before. My dog absolutely positively will NOT under any circumstances drink tap water.

90° outside? Nope.
Just finished running a marathon? No way.
Dehydrated? Bring on death.

My wife discovered this when he was a little puppy. He wasn't drinking much and his nose was always dry. She says:

"I don't think he likes tap water. He sniffs it and walks away."

She poured him a bowl of filtered water NEXT to his bowl of tap water and he crushed it. 😳

Ever since then, our municipal water will not be touched. I can pour some in travel bottles, refrigerate it, bring it with us on a hike, and he still won't drink it.

Meanwhile I've been drinking this crap for my whole life. It makes me wonder... What does the dog know?? 🤔😆

😂 That’s hilarious! They really do have the most dramatic standards sometimes. Maybe Bomber’s secretly onto something we’re not!

It’s wild how specific they can be. Do you think it’s the smell, or maybe the minerals in tap water that throws him off?

He probably smells the chlorine or whatever else gets added to make it safe. That's just a wild guess.

It's definitely the chlorine lol he's a smart pup! I know a lot of people who get bottled water for their pets because of how aggressively treated our water is.

I always give my pets filtered water because I know if the roles were reversed, that's what they'd do for me 🥲

I'm pretty rough around the edges. My wife, not so much. She's over here sharing bottles of Fiji water with this psycho. 🙄😆

They really do act like bottled water sommeliers. “Hmm… notes of chlorine and disappointment.”

My baby is the same! I bought a filter and an ice maker since the refrigerator ice maker uses the tap water. My girl uses buttons to communicate, and she figured out early on she could ask for ice by pressing hungry and water. Hungry water = ice. They're too smart for their own good. At any rate, they deserve to be spoiled.
