My favorite thing to do with Murphy lately is wrestle.

Murphy was my first dog. I knew nothing about canine behavior or body language, and her size intimidated me. One of the biggest lessons Murphy has taught me is confidence.

For 5 years I never got down on the floor on her level and just wrestled with her. She's very big, her canines are an inch long. She is very intimidating to most people.

I wrestled with her for the first time around 2 months ago. Just on the ground puppy kind of wrestling. It was the funnest thing of my life. Five years of working on bite inhibition, and appropriate play, I wish I would have had more confidence in my dog and myself.

To other people, it would be so obvious that my dog and I would be able to play like this, but I wasn't confident in my dog, and especially myself.

We had so much fun. We wrestle all the time now.

For me, nothing beats structured play, tug, chase, out, re-engage, repeat.

That’s where a working-line dog really comes alive. It’s not just exercise; it’s communication, problem-solving, and bonding all at once. When the switches between work and play get seamless, it feels like you’re moving as one unit.

That’s my favorite thing to do with any dog I’ve owned.

Rocky will chase me towards the bins then wait for me to come charging at him which then becomes our game of chase
 
I enjoy his time and company, what I enjoy most is his absolute goofiness, he is a GIANT who acts like a puppy and it’s adorable.

I enjoy going on hikes with my boy as well as playing tug of war

We never rest until it’s bed time gogogogogo in this house hold. It’s chaotic and it’s peaceful all at once.

My dog and I do tons of cool stuff together. Anyone that's interacted with me on this platform knows we're dorks. Obedience training, biting stuff, tug, chase & catch, club, and so on.

My favorite thing to do with my dog might be the simplest. It is, without question, the off-leash hike.

We can walk for miles without saying a word and remain perfectly in-tune with each other. He will range while always keeping an eye (and ear) on me, he'll instinctively recall without me asking for it.

And in the case that I do need a formal recall, he absolutely FLYS to me. It doesn't matter what's happening in the environment. Deers, squirrels, hikers, dogs, it doesn't matter.

I can change direction or come to a stop and he'll immediately follow suit. If someone with a dog is coming up the trail, I can ask for him to move off the trail and hold a down-stay with full trust that he'll hold position.

The absolute confidence and power in his movements while running free up and down the trail is an absolute joy for me to watch and be a part of. His head and tail held high, body strong and fluid, with an expression full of enthusiasm.

All of the exposure, obedience training, and work has all been with one goal in mind:

To empower my dog to be happy, powerful and free. Nothing embodies this more than the off-leash hike. It's been quite some time since I've even brought the leash with me on our Sunday morning hikes. It's not needed.

The bites, jumps, and running are fun, but to me, the best part happens when the day is done. My favorite activity is cuddling up with my stinky fur missile in bed! 💯 the perfect end to a fulfilling day!
 
Honestly this is going to sound dumb but I love when my girl is laying on her side next to me and I just pet her head/cheeks/ears. The look of pure trust and devotion that she gives me is just so sweet. I tell her she’s a good girl when I do this hah
 
My favorite activity with my girl is definitely playing frisbee! She loves it so much, we play everyday inside and outside. When we go to the pet store, once she finds her frisbees, she grabs one and she's ready to checkout. She doesn't stop for any other toys, no treats, she doesn't let the cashier take the frisbee but she shoves it toward them to scan. Frisbee is everything to my girl! We also love to have dance parties with my cool wifi led light bars, she likes 80's hip hop and early 2000's emo, she's definitely my girl.

I'm so jealous of the frisbee play. My dog LOVES chase & catch but he never really cared for frisbee.
