I am interested in protection training, but because my GSD is a service dog, I can't cross train her.

How did you find your trainer? Also, what specific work do you do?

I work with a TWC training team about an hour from me from time to time. I usually see them if I need help with something I'm working on. I usually see them once every 6 - 8 weeks. It's been awhile though. Great people.

Finding a good trainer deserves its own post. Maybe I'll follow up with that in the future.

The system I'll use to train protection will be Shield K9s program. The Shield Methodology is basically what I've used to train my dog with a few tweaks of my own and influence from other well known trainers, specifically Michael Ellis and Ivan Balabanov/TWC.

The protection training I'm considering is family protection, this isn't for work but for every day life.
