Should panda German Shepherds be recognized by AKC

We see a lot of Labs in SAR, and the great ones are always smaller with a ton of drive. Those are the ones that, as an vowed GSD handler, I see them work and say I could see myself with that dog. But that's rare.

I've always considered labs to be a medium sized dog breed. I was looking at crates the other day and saw manufacturers had recommended labs use XL or even XXL crates. Needless to say, it shocked me.
