I tried some high end kibble and fresh frozen food, delivered to my doorstep. I wanted only the best for my boy but the cost was around US$ 600 / month.
Then I switched to raw with vegetables. Every week I buy 25 lbs of meet, grind it up at home and mix it with boiled kale or spinach, carrots, broccoli, green beans and blueberries. Occasionally I add some raw liver and homemade bone broth.
His environmental allergies improved (but he's still on Apoquel daily) and his p00p size shrunk significantly. In the kibble days sometimes i needed two bags to pick it up, now it's just a little bit. You put shit in you get shit out, obviously. There are way too many fillers without nutritional value in most kibble.
Now my food costs are down to $ 250/mo and my dog is healthy and happy.
