I'm a Starbucks girl. When I drink coffee, what I really want is dessert. A three shot Carmel macchiato with almond milk, cinnamon dolce, and extra whip with pumpkin spice on top is my drink of choice.
When I make coffee at home, I similarly dress my drinks up. Pumpkin spice in the cup, whip on top, brown sugar, hazel nut creamer... You get the idea.
So, when I got the German Shepherd Coffee Co. Rin Tin Tin House Blend, I wanted to make sure I tried it every way. I've never had ANY house blend before, and I never take my coffee black. But if I didn't take it black, I didn't think it would be a fair review.
The Coffee
Enough about me, how did it TASTE?
I've started my day off with this coffee for three days now and it definitely is going to become a staple in my routine.
Taken black, the coffee tastes complex. As I said before, as a Starbucks girly, I love to drink sugar, and I snub my nose at flat coffee, especially when black.
The Rin Tin Tin blend is absolutely delicious. Taken black it has a nutty flavor that's not too strong, but enough to set up the flavor profile of the drink.
On second sip, it has notes of chocolate? It is definitely sweeter than other black coffees I have tried.
I also tried the coffee dressed up. I've used creamer, whipped cream, white and brown sugar, almond and cow's milk, pumpkin spice, cinnamon, if it was in my kitchen and wasn't the sink, I put it in there.
And the flavor holds.
So, my opinion is, whether you take your coffee black, or dressed up like Cinderella at the ball, this really is a delicious coffee.
