My introduction

Kalispell sounds like she was such a once-in-a-lifetime girl, even with her little quirks. And that’s incredible about Thunder, it must be so rewarding to see him finding his footing with your family after that transition.

Search and Rescue sounds like such meaningful work! Do you already know what type of SAR you’ll be focusing on with him, or are you waiting to see what suits him best?
Thank you.

SAR will be new to us both. Thunder was imprinted for explosives detection, we are hoping to repurpose that to SAR.

My wife works as an educator for special needs kids. Our community is rural and some of these kids leave their homes and get lost in fields for hours. We are hoping Thunder can track and locate them quickly, these events in winter are really dangerous.

Thank you.

Wow, that’s incredible, what a meaningful way for Thunder to put his skills to work. I can only imagine how valuable that will be for your community, especially in those dangerous winter situations you mentioned. It’s really inspiring that you’re aiming to repurpose his imprinting into something so life saving.

I actually tagged you in Caspa’s intro post, he’s a K9 handler from the UK who’s moving into SAR work too. Thought you two might connect since you’re both heading down that path. Excited to follow Thunder’s journey!

Can't think of a better life for you all and Thunder. Congratulations!
