There's a metric ton of online training available. God knows I've spent a small fortune on it over the years. I've learned that most of it is incomplete, lazily done or just flat out bad.

That being said, there's a new course by Michael Ellis on SitStayLearn that's really well done. It's called "Dog Training Decoded" It's one of three courses that I recommend.

I highly recommend this course if you're brand new to dog training OR you're like me and fairly competent but mostly self-taught and you need some gaps filled in.

For those of you who might be new, Michael Ellis is like the godfather of modern dog training and he might even be a better teacher.

It's a course that will do two things 1) Teach you the skills needed to be an effective trainer for your dog and 2) show you how to lay the foundation on your dog, preparing them and teaching them how to learn.

It's really well done and I couldn't recommend it enough. Here's the link:

It's on sale right now. The sale code is at the top of the web page.

Bitz, is this a complete all aspects of training course?? Was looking for some content like this earlier in the day and was going to make a post about it here but you beat me to it. Plus, it's on sale.

Thanks for the share, and perfect timing!

Look at the attachments. It's the entire course.

Nice. I've gone through it twice. I'll probably watch it again at some point. This is one of the best courses I've seen.

Great share, Bitz. I couldn’t agree more about Ellis. The man has a gift for breaking complex concepts into things you can actually apply with your own dog. His focus on engagement and clarity between handler and dog is top tier.

I did one of his older courses years ago and still use some of those drills today. This new one looks even cleaner, I’ll definitely check it out. Thanks for the heads up about the sale too.

I finished Volume 1 of the series. I really liked how well he explained and demonstrated engagement, especially found it useful to see how it looked with different dogs/handlers and how he could encourage more/less engagement in the dogs with less drive.

Seeing him with Snug on the last bit was really wholesome. You can tell he really loves his dog and what he does for a living. Going to get started on Volume 2 later this evening. I am looking forward to the next section.
