Hello everyone , new to the group but over 25 years owning the breed. Have had 11 shepherds, numerous other animals. I was a human medical professional but my passion has always been animals . I have worked as a vet tech , done some vetrenary pharmacy consultant work , and worked for a dog trainer for about I think 20 years. I will try to be as active as possible but I am battling a chronic illness and never know how I’m going to feel day today . Here is a pic of my boy Stan , I have no idea if this is a redundant post but I figured I’d share him with you . Destiny brought us together ( he was surrendered to my boss at 16 weeks for aggression issues ) i already had 2 dogs from his breeder and I took him in. He has been a challenge but he has captured my heart. He has been by my side through almost every awful thing . I lost my brother, dad , cousin, and my health, and professional in pretty quick succession and he has been right by my side , never wavering . His loyalty to me is incredible. He has a remarkable ability to know when I’m going to have a bad medical day and is so intuitive to my emotions. He is the best gift I have ever been given . He will be 11 in January. I am hopeful I can share some of my knowledge as well as learn some more about this magestic breed . There is not one breed that holds a candle to the GSD, they have all the best qualities of most other breeds all wrapped up in one beautiful package ( minus the shedding). I hope everyone has a happy holiday season and a wonderful new year .
Sincerely
Heather

It is so good to finally put a face to the name, Stan is so handsome! He looks fantastic for almost 11!!

Thank you for sharing that deeper background with us. It really does sound like destiny that you took him in and he turned out to be exactly the rock you needed!! I’m glad he has been by your side through the health struggles and losses you mentioned.

Happy to have you in the community with all your experience!
