I will say my 9 month pup Chase is like... ridiculously loving. My dad TOLD me he'd be that way but I don't think I realized just how clingy he'd be.
Every morning he spends AT LEAST a half an hour with his head in my lap and licking my face.
He sleeps SPOONING ME. An arm actually over me...
The holidays have kept me very dead tired lately, and I have DEFINITELY been slacking with Chase's general training and such, but we have hit a MASSIVE milestone!
Unprompted due to a cut in his ear, we ended up letting Chasey out of crate halfway through the day while I'm at work. My dad checks...
I had a similar experience with my early training with Chase. Training a puppy solo, you tend to get ahead of yourself - You see all these dogs online doing amazing things, but they're adults, and you get so caught up in trying to catch up that you forget there's so much time to learn that down...
When I found my breeder, my only need was that I was getting a boy. The rest I left up to them.
Honestly, I would much rather put up with the potential humping, cocking legs to mark and a little more training stubbornness than deal with heats, harder potty training and the higher cost and...
It's Chasey's first Christmas, so while my family and I don't do celebrate other than a big family meal because star holiday (no gift exchange or anything), we always go all out for Brodie, and of course now Chase.
So far he is a snow dog, absolutely loves the snow but is SO SAD when it melts...
Love the advice to use witch hazel! I use it myself for skin allergies and it's my favorite sunburn relief, even for dogs! Quick thing I just wanted to add, though: make sure you find alcohol free witch hazel and also make sure you use a cone on them so they can't lick the spot since witch hazel...
Oooh nooo that is a BETRAYED puppy lol!
I asked a similar question before on here and there's a lot of really good answers on that post. I'm using up the last of a Tropiclean Deodorizing shampoo for now before I invest in a high end one and it's decent.
I fell in love with the Freestyle Obedience dance performances at Crufts, so we do a lot of movement work as I reach Chase to dance with me. It's not even a party trick or anything, I just do it for me because I think it's fun, and he LOVES it.
I feel exactly where you're coming from. I didn't realize how much I would love Chase until it hit me one day that he already is as important to me as my rescue dog I've known for like a decade.
Communities like this are awesome, yet rare, but we all have one! I love that we all are out here...
