SignUp Now!Awesome. I've been to a regional GSD show and there were definitely some stunning dogs so I can see how it piqued your interest in the breed along with your passion for training. I feel like GSD's are one of the best options for training lovers.Just an enthusiast!
I got my first GSD, Max, in 1979 after seeing dogs such as Royvons Red Rum and Amulrees Heiko at shows (I had previously had Border Collies and Belgian Tervuerens).
Max wasn't a show dog (although he was well bred) but was trained to test c level in obedience. I co-ran an obedience club at the time so my dogs tended to serve as 'examples'! Like the time I did a left turn with my border collie but she didn't turn & I went head first over the top of her! Very good example, I'm sure you'll agree!
Max was joined by Eva two years later and then by a rescue ex-pub dog, Ouzo (a GSD x Rough Collie) who was a pain in the a*se.
